February Home Maintenance Checklist

February is the month to show our love to our family, friends (and pets!). It’s also a good time to show some love to your home. Winter weather can be harsh on a house – here are a few tips for taking care of your home this month.

  1. Check bathrooms for signs of moisture issues.

In the winter months, our houses tend to be closed up tight, and our bathrooms might not get enough ventilation. Give the bathroom a good scrub. Check for signs of moisture, especially in grout and on the ceiling. Seal up the areas around the bathtub and toilet.

  2. Clean out the dryer vent.

Lint can quickly buildup in your dryer vent, both inside the machine and in the outside vent. Ensure the vents are clear to help your dryer work more efficiently and prevent a fire.

  3. Clean carpets and upholstery.

Being inside more often in these colder months means our carpets see more traffic. Allergens can easily build up in carpet and upholstery during this season. Deep clean your carpets and upholstery or budget for a carpet cleaning service to professionally clean these areas.
