Easy Indoor Home Maintenance

We all know it’s hot outside. Temperatures are high, and the humidity is too. The last thing anyone wants to do is outdoor home maintenance, but don’t sit around! This month is an excellent time to tackle a few indoor tasks to keep you cool and your home looking good.

Wash range hood filter

In the kitchen, the job of the hood filter is to collect oil and grease. Needless to say, it gets grimey and needs to be cleaned regularly. Bonus: this task requires no scrubbing! Just pop off the filter, let it soak in soapy water for 20 minutes, rinse and air dry before putting it back.

Check appliance hoses

The hoses to your washer, dishwasher, and icemaker should be checked for wear and tear, leaks or cracks. It’s possible that these hoses may need to be replaced every 3-5 years.

Clean baseboards

This is a relatively easy (and dare I say fun?) task the whole family can do! Use a microfiber cloth or vacuum to dust the baseboards, and then follow up with a wipe from a damp cloth.
