Shotgun Willie’s: REAL. TEXAS. BBQ.

Tucked away in East Nashville’s North Inglewood neighborhood sits Shotgun Willie’s. Located in an old nondescript building at the corner of Ardee & Gallatin road - The glowing neon state of Texas in the window lets you know, THIS IS THE PLACE. The smell of Texas BBQ permeates the air and its heavenly. The owner Bill is typically behind the counter to greet you and grab your order and have a little chit chat. He’s local to Inglewood as well and his love for the neighborhood and its people shows. The brisket sandwich is my typical go-to, but honestly you cannot go wrong with anything. The salt & pepper pork ribs are to die for and the pulled pork is perfection. Can you tell I’m a fan?! There’s also smoked chicken and smoked beef sausage on the menu for your pleasure. Sides? They have them all! The queso-y mac n’ cheese is stupid good and the dill pickle tater salad rivals any other joint in town. Not a BBQ lover? Stop by anyways and grab some banana pudding to go. I promise, you will not be disappointed! Get there early, as it sells out quick. Enjoy!
