And while buying a home may seem like a daunting endeavor, we’re here to simplify the process for you and coach you in achieving this goal. So let’s bring it down to the basics with these five steps to buying a home …

  1. Get Pre-Approved

It’s important to know how much home you can afford, what type of down payment to budget for, monthly mortgage payment as well as what type of loan program you’ll use to finance your new home. We like to call this “know your number" and this is the very first step on your journey to homeownership. But don’t worry - you don’t have to figure this out on your own! We get your connected with the right lender will guide you on what your number is and get you pre-approved so you can make a strong and knowledgeable offer.

  2. Assemble Your Home-Buying Team

Your agent, lender, title company, home inspector, and insurance agent all have important roles to play. Buying a new home is literally a team sport since there are so many tasks, important timelines, documents and responsibilities that need attention. A great agent can help you assemble to best team possible so you don’t have to do anything alone.

  3. Let’s Go House Hunting!

With great professionals by your side and your pre-approval in place, it’s time to go house hunting! When searching for a new house, you have tons of considerations to take into account — from the right neighborhood to the type of property you want. We listen first and help you prioritize your needs and wants, all so we can all stay focused on finding the right home that meets your current goals.

  4. Make an Offer

When you’ve found the house, it’s time to make the offer to buy it. This is where your Realtor (me!😉) plays a shining role, serving as both negotiator and expert resource for you throughout the entire process - from communicating additional information, making the offer, doing the appropriate paperwork, adding contingencies that protect you as a buyer and guiding you through the under contract process until we get to the closing table.

  5. Closing

Today is the day when the house becomes YOUR HOME. The title company is responsible for arranging all the legal paperwork for you to sign for the transfer of title. Once it’s all signed, sealed and delivered … It’s time to pop some bubbly and celebrate!

While buying a home is not necessarily simple, when you break it down to the basics and have professionals helping you it is absolutely attainable. You just have to know where to start … and that’s with us!
