This month is one of our favorite times of the year. It’s not unbearably hot and humid yet, and the pollen has (hopefully) subsided enough to enjoy the outdoors again. Here’s a list of our favorite upcoming events in Nashville for you and your family to enjoy together.
May Day Festival at Capitol View
Saturday, May 6, 12pm - 6pmConveniently located in the North Gulch area of downtown Nashville, this family-friendly event includes free parking. Enjoy live music, street vendors, food trucks and more at this ’70s-themed block party. With activities ranging from face painting to flower crown building to a tie-dye station and balloon animals, there’s something for people of all ages to enjoy at this FREE event.
The Rock and Roll Playhouse: Music of Shania Twain for Kids & More
Sunday, May 14, 12pmThe Rock and Roll Playhouse, a family concert series hosted at historic music venues across the country, allows kids to “move, play and sing while listening to works from the classic-rock canon” (NY Times). Brooklyn Bowl Nashville. Tickets are $15/person, children under 1 are free.
Cornelia Fort Pickin’ Party
Saturday, May 20, 5:30pm - 9:30pmHelping preserve one of the city’s most unique landmarks and held once a month, from May - August, at East Nashville’s Cornelia Fort Airpark. Great live music, craft beer, family activities, food vendors, and so much more for all ages. On May 20th, YEAH! Nashville will be offering guitar activities for kids to join the pickin’. Tickets are $18/person, ages 15 and under are free.
