Work-Life Balance

Being a Realtor can mean working 24/7 with limitless boundaries. It’s why burnout is so high in our profession. So the thought of work-life balance can be pretty elusive. That’s why partnering up with Jennifer and Lila to form our group - Living True Home Group - has been so critical to my longevity in this profession, mental health, client service and work-life balance.

Realtors are known to go on vacation, just to be writing contracts, negotiating deals, talking with clients, scheduling showings, planning listing photography and all kinds of other business while “vacationing.” And frankly, it can be exhausting - the opposite of recharging. I’m not saying we don’t like what we do. But I am saying sometimes we could serve our clients better if we allow ourselves a break.

I mentioned last month that I was planning a solo trip to Utah. These solo trips to my favorite place - Southern Utah - are necessary. It forces me to challenge myself, test my limits, be affected, feel alive, recharge. Well, folks, I just got back and it was absolutely amazing! I hiked up to Angel’s Landing to the very edge of the ledge. 🥾 I saw a tarantula in the wild. 🕷️ I soaked up all the beauty that is Southern Utah. 🏜️ I rock climbed a 180’ cliff face … and then rappelled down even higher cliffs. 🧗‍♀️ It was exactly what my soul and being needed.

And I got to do all of this without working. Not even once. But that didn’t mean my current clients weren’t taken care of. It just meant I took a much-needed break and allowed my partners to take care of things while I was gone. The care and service that Jennifer and Lila bring to our business is the same as I do. So I can rest assured that work is being handled, while I find a balance in my life.

Maybe our business arrangement isn’t for everyone. But for me, it is everything. Because I wouldn’t be half the Realtor I am today without the freedom to recharge when I need to. And that wouldn’t be possible with our group. We also happen to have a whole lot of fun too.
